Sky Sports pundit predicts how Leeds will cope without Wood against Brentford

By Dominic Toner

David Prutton has predicted that Leeds will cement their place in the play-off positions with a victory against Brentford in the Championship.

The Whites are currently sixth in the league table and host 14th-placed Brentford on Saturday, who have won their last two games against Bristol City and Burton respectively.

Garry Monk’s side completed a 2-0 victory against promotion rivals Reading on Tuedsay, with Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara on the scoresheet.

Wood has now scored 14 goals in 25 appearances this season, but was forced off injured in the first-half and is considered doubtful to play at the weekend.

Sky Sports pundit Prutton has tipped Leeds to win 2-1 despite the loss of their talisman against Brentford.

“If Chris Wood is out he’ll be a big miss, but I think with the way that Leeds are playing at home, they just shade it,” Prutton wrote for Sky Sports.

Monk has enjoyed great success at Leeds since he took over as manager in the summer.

The 37-year-old has become an instant success at Elland Road and the Yorkshire club are now hopefully of returning to the Premier League.

The Whites are currently 10 points adrift of second-placed Brighton in the automatic spot and the play-offs appear to be the most probable solution.

Monk’s side are currently just inside the play-off positions but face a difficult task to stay there by the end of the season, with third-placed and 10th separate by just five points.
