Gary Neville: This is the team apart from Manchester United I want to win the league

By Emma Sanders

Gary Neville has revealed he hopes Arsenal will win the Premier League if Manchester United cannot achieve the feat.

The Sky Sports pundit and United legend revealed his choice in a Q&A on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday lunch-time but admitted he didn’t think the Gunners were capable on winning the title.

Neville spent his entire career at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson in an era which saw a huge rivalry build between his club and Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger and Ferguson went head-to-head in a number of crucial Premier League fixtures and both achieved great success, developing title-winning squads.

However, Neville admitted Wenger may not be able to win another title with the Gunners before his contract runs out at the end of the summer.

Arsenal were the only team in the top six not to pick up maximum points in their last two fixtures and it has seen them drop down into fourth place.

They are now just one point ahead of Tottenham and trail league leaders Chelsea by nine points going into their Boxing Day clash against West Brom.

The Gunners were undone by Manchester City and Everton last week but Liverpool were able to grab all three points in a dramatic late Merseyside derby victory to ensure they moved back into second place.

Manchester United still trail in sixth place but victories against Tottenham, Crystal Palace and West Brom have shown an improvement in Jose Mourinho’s side.

In other Arsenal news, this superstar has been identified as a replacement for Mesut Ozil.
