Matthew Le Tissier has stated that he would let Tottenham duo Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela leave the club in the summer.
Sky Sports pundit Le Tissier believes Sissoko has not been a “roaring success” while Lamela has “flattered to deceive” during his time at White Hart Lane.
Attacking midfielder Sissoko joined Spurs last summer when he made a £30million switch from recently-relegated Newcastle.
By contrast, playmaker Lamela moved to the north London club in 2013, when he made a £25million switch from Italian outfit Roma.
Southampton fan favourite Le Tissier explained why he would let the £55million duo leave the club in five months’ time.
“I always thought this was a strange signing [Sissoko],” Le Tissier told Sky Sports. “He doesn’t strike me as a Tottenham kind of player and hasn’t been a roaring success. I think if they can get a decent ‘chunk’ for him, [the club should] let him go.
“I’d say he [Lamela] has flattered to deceive. I know he has been injured a lot this season but I think he’s just a little bit too flaky. Yes, he’s got ability but I haven’t seen it often enough.”
Since his move from the Magpies, Sissoko has failed to establish himself as a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
He has played 23 games in all competitions, starting nine of those encounters and providing only four assists during that time.
The France international has not started a Premier League game since the 4-1 win at Southampton in December and he has only completed 90 minutes in the league on one occasion this term.
On the other hand, Argentinian Lamela has only played 14 matches in all competitions this term as he has not featured for his side since October because of injury.
During his four years at the London-based club, Lamela has played 121 games, scoring 19 goals and providing 31 assists.
Spurs are in FA Cup action on Sunday afternoon when they take on London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage for a place in the next round.
