Solanke, Hudson-Odoi react to Aina’s Nottingham Forest message amid contract talks
Dom Solanke and Callum Hudson-Odoi have reacted to a post from Ola Aina as he nears the end of his current Nottingham Forest contract.
Aina was a key man for Forest in their quest to qualify for European competition last season, with two goals and one assist in 35 Premier League appearances.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side tailed off from competing for the Champions League places to eventually finish in seventh after a final day loss to Chelsea, meaning they will participate in the Conference League next term.
Forest are set for a busy summer window with numerous incomings and outgoings expected, and former Everton chief Keith Wyness recently revealed to Football Insider that Nuno and owner Evangelos Marinakis will need to agree on selling some key men in the coming months to stay in line with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Former Chelsea youngster Aina has previously been targeted by Manchester City as a potential Kyle Walker replacement [The Sun], but he could extend his stay at the City Ground soon with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Aina’s strong 2024/25 form will have surely seen him attract attention from numerous top teams across Europe, but The Telegraph recently reported that Forest’s “expectation” is that he will sign a new contract, which has been on the table for months, soon.
The Nigerian international took to Instagram on Monday (16 June) to show that he had clearly enjoyed the Tricky Trees’ surprise European push in the last campaign, with a compilation of his best moments of the season alongside the caption: “24/25 was fun.”
His message to supporters of the East Midlands outfit drew reactions from a number of his teammates, with Hudson-Odoi liking and commenting: “Different” with two fire emojis, Elliot Anderson also liking and commenting: “So good” with a fire emoji, while Murillo, Neco Williams and Ryan Yates also liked the post.
Aina also had messages of support left on his new post by other Premier League players, as Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah commented: “Top” and Fulham man Alex Iwobi left a fire emoji, while Spurs striker Solanke also liked the post along with Amadou Onana and Calvin Bassey.
Forest are set for a busy summer window amid Aina contract plans
Football Insider verdict
Forest’s rapid climb to the upper echelons of the top-flight last season was unprecedented by those at the club and neutrals alike, and their success was partly led by Aina, who looks to be finally realising the high potential that saw him emerge from Chelsea’s academy as a youngster.
He is contracted to Espirito Santo’s side until at least 2026, so looks unlikely to leave despite previous interest, but Forest are in line for a busy summer even with him set to stay.

They are believed to be closing in on signing three players from Brazilian club Botafogo, with Igor Jesus, Cuiabano, and Jair Cunha set to join Forest for a combined fee of almost £30million, so it is clear that they are planning for a big window to bolster their squad ahead of their Conference League venture.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson recently told Football Insider that Forest should make a move for Manchester City starlet James McAtee, but that would likely mean an exit for key man Morgan Gibbs-White, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal by Football Insider’s Mick Brown following an impressive campaign at the heart of their success.
Brown also recently told Football Insider that Forest are working hard to identify replacements for Anthony Elanga, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle from the City Ground, with the Reds claimed to be interested in signing Oscar Bobb on loan from Man City to bolster their options if the Swede departs.
