Solskjaer's Man United media mates to 'turn on him' amid source reveal - pundit

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Man United allies in the media will now finally begin to turn on him, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker admitted he was “very, very shocked” by Man United’s lacklustre display in the Manchester derby.

Solskjaer’s side fell to a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford but managed just 33 per cent of possession.

It means the Reds have won just one of their last six Premier League games.

A club source told Football Insider (November 10) the board have growing misgivings about Solskjaer and he will be sacked if he does not lead a revival after the international break.

“I was very, very shocked watching the game against Man City,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“For the meanwhile, you cannot call that the Manchester derby, you cannot call that a derby game. It was like an attack v defence session in training. It wasn’t even a football match. It was the most light-hearted derby.

“There was a lack of tackles, lack of passion and a lack of ideas from Manchester United.

“At any other club in the world, they would have sacked their manager by now but Man United are being stubborn.

“Even ex-players have totally changed their tune. Rio Ferdinand, who asked from him to get the job, has changed his tune and asked for him to leave.

“Ex-players that are close to him have had enough with how the team is performing and I think they will turn on him.”

Speaking on his YouTube channel (November 8), Ferdinand admitted it is the time for Solskjaer to “pass the baton on”.

The Norwegian will have been in charge of the club for three years next month.
