Paul Robinson heaped praise on Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana following his cameo appearance in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Tottenham and England goalkeeper sang the praises of Lallana as he thought the attacking midfielder was excellent on Sunday.

Lallana scored a late equaliser for the Reds against Manchester United in order to maintain the club’s unbeaten start in the Premier League after being brought on to replace captain Jordan Henderson in the 71st minute of the match.

Robinson pointed out that it was hard for a player to make an impact coming off the bench so that made Lallana’s cameo appearance just that little more impressive.

When asked about Lallana’s headline-stealing cameo against Man United, Robinson told Football Insider: “I thought he was excellent.

“He’s a quality player, we all know he’s a quality player, it’s always hard to come on during a game, but to come on and have an impact, it’s something a bit special.

“I was very surprised that Liverpool didn’t win the game comfortably.”

The 31-year-old has been on the fringes of Liverpool’s squad this season as Jurgen Klopp has only opted to play the midfielder for 29 minutes in the Premier League.

Lallana has been at Anfield since 2014 after joining from Southampton but his current Reds contract is on course to expire at the end of the season.

In other Liverpool news, a Football Insider pundit believes Lallana isn’t the Reds fringe player who can have the biggest impact this season.
