Heung-min Son will be seriously considering his Tottenham future and a new manager will not change his mind, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Aston Villa forward insisted there was no reason for the forward to sign a new contract unless there was “serious investment” at Spurs.
Football Insider revealed back in November the two parties were in advanced negotiations over a bumper new five-year deal worth more than £200,000-a-week.
Son was visibly upset last weekend after his side’s 1-0 Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.
Asked for his assessment of Son’s status at Spurs, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He’ll definitely be thinking about his future like Kane.
“There’s been new contract talks but why would he want to sign a new contract with Spurs?
“I don’t think it always matters about the new manager. They need serious investment, Spurs.
“Gareth Bale has done OK when he’s played but he’s not going to take them to the next level.
“Because if they don’t [get the investment] Kane and Son are not going to stay. There’s no chance.”
Son and Kane have developed a killer connection at Tottenham and the pair have a whopping 83 goal contributions between this season across all competitions.
Kane explained to Sky Sports: “We have a really good connection, a really good understanding. We get on really well on and off the pitch.”
