'Sounds like he is going' - Exclusive: Bent claims 'Brilliant' Celtic player set to be in demand
Darren Bent claimed Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon will be in demand if he exits the club in the summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international shared it looked like an exit was likely for the 36-year-old with his Hoops contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Gordon recently revealed that he had not spoken to the Hoops about a new deal and added that with him nearing the latter years of his career, he wants to be playing.
Bent explained that Gordon still had a few good years left in him so he could envision other teams in Scotland as well as teams in England wanting his services if they become available.
When asked whether the writing is on the wall for Gordon due to him wanting to play and him not being in discussions over a new deal, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah potentially, I played with Craig at Sunderland and he’s a very good goalkeeper, brilliant.
“At one stage we thought his career was over due to injury and he managed to come back.

“But listen, he’s 36? 36, so he’s still got a good couple of years, three years even, left in him.
“So I think if he does leave in the summer which it sounds like he is going to, there are still going to be teams in Scotland who’d want him and there are even teams in the Championship who would take him.”
Manager Neil Lennon responded to Gordon’s comments on his uncertain future by stating that he’d loathe seeing him leave but also admitted he understood he wanted to be playing more.
The veteran shot-stopper has only played six times this season across all competitions, with the on-loan Fraser Forster establishing himself as the club’s No.1.
