Sources: Aston Villa striker Young set for loan as Swindon, Northampton, Mansfield and Port Vale swoop
Aston Villa striker Brad Young is the subject of a late-window race between Swindon Town, Northampton Town, Mansfield Town and Port Vale, Football Insider understands.
The 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Carlisle United before his stint was cut short earlier this month.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Villa have given the green light for Young to go out on loan again before the close of the transfer window.

Swindon, Northampton, Mansfield and Port Vale were among a host of clubs who watched the forward score for Villa Under-23s in a 4-1 win over Reading on Monday night.
They have all registered their interest in signing Young before next Monday’s cut-off.
Young has 18 months left on his contract at Villa Park.
Ex-Villa boss Dean Smith handed the teenager his debut last season in a 4-1 FA Cup defeat to Liverpool.
It remains his only senior appearance for the Claret and Blue.
A product of Villa’s academy, Young joined Carlisle United on loan in August of last year.
He contributed three goals and one assist in his 20 appearances for the League Two club.
However, none of those goals came in his 14 league outings.
Young could be the third striker to leave Villa Park on loan this January.
Cameron Archer sealed a loan move to Preston North End on Monday, while Keinan Davis joined Nottingham Forest earlier this month.
In other news, it can be revealed Aston Villa have lined up a new bid for a Premier League star amid a ‘huge’ Gerrard verdict.
