Sources: Barcelona offer ‘huge’ deal to Liverpool star Roberto Firmino

Barcelona have offered a “huge” contract to Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, sources have told Football Insider.

The 31-year-old has confirmed he will depart Anfield at the end of the season when his contract expires – ending an eight-year, trophy-laden association with the Merseysiders.

A well-placed source has now told Football Insider that Barcelona have submitted a “huge-money” offer to Firmino as he prepares to choose his next club.

It is believed that the Brazil international also has a lucrative offer on the table from Champions League holders Real Madrid.

A Saudi Arabian club are also ready to sign the forward on a free transfer, and rumours suggesting Firmino has decided on a move to Spain are wide of the mark.

The former Hoffenheim ace, who joined Liverpool in 2015, is yet to decide on his next club.

Firmino has managed to contribute for Jurgen Klopp’s side despite his dwindling involvement.

He has notched 11 goals and five assists in 33 games across all competitions – just 16 of which have come from the start.

The box-office signings of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo have meant that the forward’s game time has been limited.

Firmino has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Anfield.

The 55-cap Brazil star, who currently earns a reported wage of £180,000-a-week, has scored 109 goals in 360 games for the club.

His best return to date came in the 2017-18 season, when he notched 27 goals and 17 assists in 54 games.

Liverpool

Firmino and Liverpool are unlikely to qualify for a Champions League place this term after a lacklustre campaign.

Klopp’s side face Nottingham Forest on Saturday (22 April).

In other news, Liverpool now turn attention to surprise signing this summer.
