Sources: Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town and Watford in race to sign Hertha Berlin star Derry Scherhant
Blackburn, Ipswich and Watford eyeing moves for Hertha Berlin attacker Derry Scherhant, sources have told Football Insider
The trio of Championship clubs are keen to bring the 21-year-old to England this January.
The Riversiders are long-term admirers of Scherhant and had three loan offers rejected by the Bundesliga 2 outfit this summer.

The Germany under-20 international has notched six goals and one assist in all competitions for Hertha Berlin.
While he predominantly plays as a centre-forward, Scherhant’s versatility has seen him play at left-wing, right-wing and right-midfielder this campaign.
He started this season mostly playing for Herta’s reserve team in the Regionalliga Nordost, a division in Germany’s fourth tier, but has found significant minutes from the bench in Bundesliga 2.
Scherhant started Herta’s most recent senior game against SV 07 Elversberg in a 5-1 win on Sunday (3 December), playing 81 minutes of the action.
In the Regionalliga Nordost, he has bagged 29 goals and 11 assists in 51 total appearances and scored his first and only goal in the German top-flight last season before Herta’s relegation in a 4-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
He also scored his first Bundesliga 2 goal this season in a 2-1 defeat to St Pauli earlier this season (30 September).

All three vying clubs are in the hunt for promotion to the Premier League this season, with Watford 10th, Blackburn seventh and Ipswich up in second and seven points into the automatic promotion spots.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side are next in action against Leeds United at Ewood Road on Saturday (9 December)
