Sources: Brighton make new push to sign Ronan Ferns from Celtic
Brighton are trying to push through a deal for Celtic sensation Ronan Ferns, sources have told Football Insider.
The Seagulls are big admirers of the 16-year-old defender and are working hard behind the scenes to complete a deal for the Scottish teenager before the end of the season.
It is understood that rival Premier League clubs have registered interest in Ferns, forcing Brighton to move quickly to seal a deal.
Brighton have submitted a six-figure bid for the 16-year-old centre-back and have prepared a contract offer in an attempt to lure him south of the border.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side have been the frontrunners to land Ferns ahead of the summer window but are wary that rivals could attempt to hijack their deal.
Football Insider first revealed in March that Brighton have an interest in bringing Ferns to the Amex Stadium.
Now the Premier League high flyers are in contact with Celtic over finalising a deal for Ferns as they work on a full agreement between all parties before the end of the season.
Ferns, who is regarded by the Celtic coaching staff as a hugely promising talent, is yet to pen a professional contract at Parkhead.

The rising star has spent most of the 2022/23 season playing regularly in the Celtic Under-17s and has been utilised both in defence and in midfield.
He has also been called up multiple times by Scotland’s Under-16s to represent his nation this term.
