Sources: Burnley complete signing of Luke McNally from Oxford United
Burnley have completed a deal for Oxford United defender Luke McNally, Football Insider understands.
The centre-back, 22, has moved to Turf Moor on a permanent deal and is set to be named their second signing of the summer.
A Clarets source told Football Insider that McNally trained with Vincent Kompany’s group on Tuesday (28 June) ahead of an official announcement.
Football Insider reported on Sunday (26 June) that the two clubs had agreed a £1.6million deal for the McNally.
After a majorly impressive past 18 months, he had attracted interest from across the EFL but Burnley have won the race for his signature.
The newly-relegated side were in desperate need of defensive reinforcements this summer with Ben Mee and James Tarkowski out of contract.
He will become their second signing of the summer after attacker Scott Twine who arrived from MK Dons on Sunday (26 June).
Football Insider reported last week (24 June) that Burnley had agreed a £4million fee for the 22-year-old who scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists in League One in 2021-22.
McNally scored five times in 30 games for Oxford United in 2021-22 as they finished eighth in League One, just seven points outside the play-off positions.

He had two years left on his contract at the Kasam Stadium but has instead opted to join Burnley.
The Irishman has been capped at Under-19s level but is yet to be called up to Stephen Kenny’s senior squad.
In other news, Burnley are in advanced talks to sign a Man City player.
