Sources: Derby County star Krystian Bielik in advanced talks to join new club

Derby County star Krystian Bielik is in advanced talks to join a new club, sources have told Football Insider.

Rams boss Liam Rosenior has four new additions lined up to come in but must balance the books by moving on record signing Bielik, 24, before he can complete the signings.

The Poland international is understood to be in talks with a mystery club over a move away from Derby as he wants to be playing at the highest level possible ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

Derby

Bielik’s departure from Pride Park will free up much-needed funds in Derby’s budget to allow Rosenior to add further to his squad.

Derby have already made 11 new signings this summer.

In an interview with Sport TVP (18 May) Poland manager Czeslaw Michniewicz admitted “I told Krystian that he would not go to the World Cup playing at League One level”.

This came after former manager Wayne Rooney claimed, as per the Derby Telegraph (28 April), that Bielik would remain a Derby player unless something “drastic” happened.

Bielik signed for Derby from Arsenal in August 2019 for an initial £7.5million, as per Sky Sports.

Despite being a Gunners player for five years, the attacker only made two senior appearances for the club, failing to score.

Loans to Birmingham City, Walsall and Charlton Athletic all came before Bielik finally joined Derby on a permanent basis.

Hull

Bielik has made 49 appearances for the Rams.

Those outings have yielded three goals and no assists.

In other news, sources have told Football Insider that Norwich City, QPR and Swansea City in the race to sign Fiorentina star Jacob Rasmussen.
