Sources: Door opens for Everton to sign James Garner after Nottingham Forest twist
Nottingham Forest are out of the running for Man United midfielder James Garner, sources have told Football Insider.
United are open to offers for the 21-year-old before the transfer window closes and will sell if their price tag of £14-15million is met.
Forest have been linked with a move for Garner all summer after a successful spell on loan at the City Ground, while Everton and Tottenham are also in the race.

But, the Premier League new boys are unlikely to pursue a move for the England under-21 international after already spending heavily on new signings this summer.
The door is now open for Everton to make a formal move for Garner as they step up plans to recruit a new central midfielder.
This site revealed on Tuesday (16 August) that the Merseysiders have registered their interest in a deal for the United academy product.
Garner has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, with the club holding the option of a further year.
He has been an unused substitute in Man United’s first two Premier League fixtures of the season.
The centre-midfielder has not featured for the Red Devils’ first team since 2019.

Garner spent half of the 2020-21 campaign, and the entirety of the 2021-22 campaign, on loan at Forest.
In total, he contributed eight goals and 10 assists in 69 appearances across all competitions.
In other news, a finance guru has claimed the ‘sun is shining’ on Nottingham Forest as a £2million ‘gamble’ may lead to a £600million payoff.
