Sources: Everton launch last-gasp move for Josh King
Everton have made a late move for Joshua King after Cenk Tosun’s exit was finalised, Football Insider understands.
Tosun has moved back to his former club Besiktas on loan until the end of the season.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider King has been holding for an elite club and would jump at the chance to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
King has a house in the north-west from his days at Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers and has a strong attachment to the area.
Tosun’s exit from Everton leaves Ancelotti with just Dominic Calvert-Lewin as his only senior striker.
The Italian hinted on Friday he would look to add another forward if Tosun’s exit was completed.
England international Calvert-Lewin has started all but one of Everton’s Premier League games this season and has scored 11 goals in 18 games.
King’s contract expires at the end of the season and has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth all month.
He has an impressive goal record in the Premier League having found the net 48 times in 161 games during a five-season spell.
He recently returned to the Bournemouth starting XI and played the full 90 minutes of their 3-1 defeat to Reading on Friday night.
The result was the Cherries’ third consecutive defeat and leaves them eight points off the automatic promotion places.
King, a 51-time Norway international, is yet to find the net in the league this season but scored three times in his two FA Cup appearances.
