Sources: Galatasaray in advanced talks to sign Leicester winger Ghezzal

Forgotten Leicester winger Rachid Ghezzal is in advanced talks to join Galatasaray, Football Insider understands.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Besiktas after slipping down the Foxes pecking order.

A club source has told Football Insider Leicester are now negotiating the permanent sale of Ghezzal.

The Algeria international joined Leicester in 2018 as a direct replacement to Riyad Mahrez.

However, he has only made 23 total appearances for the club after failing to impress Brendan Rodgers.

Loan spells at Fiorentina and Besiktas followed with the second spell away from England proving the most fruitful.

Ghezzal scored eight goals in the Super Lig last season as Besiktas marched to the title.

The winger has proved himself in Turkey with giants Galatasaray looking to steal a march on their rivals.

Galatasaray lost the title to Besiktas on the final day of last season.

Remarkably, both clubs finished on 84 points with Besiktas only winning by scoring one more goal than their rivals across the season.

Ghezzal scored three goals in his time at the King Power Stadium.

His sole Premier League strike came against Liverpool in the early stages of the 2018-19 campaign.

That goal is better remembered for then-new Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson getting caught unawares, allowing Ghezzal to fire home into an empty net.

Ghezzal will be the first summer exit to bring money to the Foxes.

Wes Morgan has retired while Christian Fuchs and Matty James have left on free transfers.
