
Sources: Graham Potter not in running for Tottenham job – ‘he won’t work with Levy’
Tottenham will not reignite interest in sacked Chelsea boss Graham Potter in their hunt for a new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The 47-year-old is not a top target for Spurs as they continue to search for a successor to Antonio Conte.
Potter rejected the Lilywhites in 2021 when they spent months searching for a replacement for Jose Mourinho following his mid-season sacking.
The then-Brighton boss rejected Tottenham’s advances at the time as he “didn’t want to work with Daniel Levy”, a well-placed source has told Football Insider.
Club chairman Levy is a controversial figure with the Spurs fans – and drew criticism from Conte due to a lack of spending in the transfer market during his time at the club.
Cristian Stellini has been named interim manager until the end of the season as Tottenham scour the market for their next manager.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (7 April) that Tottenham have cemented former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann as their top managerial candidate and are happy to wait until the summer to appoint him.
However, the Gerrman has also been in contact with Chelsea following Potter’s sacking.
Spurs could get the upper hand over their London rivals by securing European football for the 2023-24 season.
Tottenham sit fifth in the table, three points adrift of fourth – while Chelsea are some 14 points away from a top-four berth.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Saturday (8 April) that Potter has set his sights on becoming the next manager of Southampton if they remain in the Premier League.
He has been the subject of an approach from managerless Leicester, but is choosing to wait until the off-season before taking his next role.
