Sources: Huddersfield Town in advanced talks to sign Kyle Hudlin

Huddersfield Town are in advanced talks to sign Solihull Moors forward Kyle Hudlin, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The 6ft 9in giant, who is the tallest outfield professional player in Britain, has been on the radar of multiple EFL clubs.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Huddersfield are close to a breakthrough in talks to land Hudlin.

The Championship club are increasingly confident of agreeing a deal for the National League colossus.

He has attracted interest from many clubs in the Football League, including another Yorkshire powerhouse Sheffield Wednesday.

Hudlin scored the opening goal for Solihull during the National League Promotion Playoff final on Sunday (5 June).

However, his afternoon ultimately ended in heartbreak as Grimsby Town fought back to win 2-1 after extra-time and consign the Midlands club to another year in the fifth tier.

The forward netted five times in the 2021-22 campaign – bringing his total tally for The Moors to 15 in 62 games.

Football Insider revealed last September that Scottish champions Celtic have also monitored Hudlin – and have sent their scouts to personally run the rule over the hitman.

Man City, Middlesborough, and Cardiff have also reportedly watched the striker in action.

Speaking to The Sun last month (31 May), Hudlin revealed aspirations to play in the Champions League and hinted that he could be plying his trade in the Football League in the 2022-23 season.

Huddersfield

Huddersfield missed out on promotion to the Premier League during the 2021-22 season after a playoff final defeat against Nottingham Forest.

Josh Koroma, Danny Ward, Jordan Rhodes, and Kieran Phillips currently comprise the Terriers’ striking options.

In other news, Nottingham Forest, Norwich City and Huddersfield Town race to sign Ligue 1 star.
