Sources: Issouf Sissokho’s stance on joining Leeds United in January revealed
Leeds United’s season looks to be getting back on track after recent frustrating results in their battle for survival after last season’s promotion.
Daniel Farke’s side beat West Ham 2-1 on Friday night, gaining an addition three points on a potential relegation rival despite still being in the season’s early stages.
Leeds have now moved up to 15th in the Premier League, with six points separating them from Nottingham Forest in 18th as things stand ahead of their clash with Bournemouth.
Despite their recent inconsistent results, there is a growing feeling that their big for survival will require investment to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
As a result, Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds want to sign a midfielder and a winger in the mid-season window to strengthen in key areas.

Issouf Sissokho open to Leeds United move
Football Insider revealed on 25 October that Leeds want to sign Issouf Sissokho from Maccabi Tel Aviv and have identified him as an option for January.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 23-year-old would be very interested in a move to the Premier League should the opportunity arise and is keen to make the switch to Elland Road.
Impressive displays in Champions League qualifying rounds and in the Europe League have put him on Leeds’ radar, and there is a growing feeling a deal would be possible.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “It’s an interesting link this one, I don’t think there’s a lot that know about Sissokho really.
“Maybe Sissokho is an option that’s come up to Leeds and could be good value for money in that respect.
“He’s got 18 months left on his contract and I’m sure the opportunity for the Mali international to move to Premier League will be something that he would very much be interested in as well.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder, probably more of a defensive option than Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, so let’s see if Leeds do follow up their interest in January.
“He’s a young player with huge potential. As I said, Leeds are obviously keeping tabs on him, so let’s see if they follow up and firm up their interest.”
While Sissokho remains a relative unknown quantity on the European football stage, he has emerged as an value-for-money option for Leeds given his contract situation.
Leeds set sights on attacking midfielder as new priority revealed
Football Insider revealed on 7 October that Leeds are prioritising attacking additions, with a striker and a winger currently at the top of their list of targets.
However, a new attack-minded midfielder has also emerged as an option to add creativity to their side and chip in with goals from the middle of the park.
Despite the arrivals of Stach and Longstaff during the summer window, there is a belief new additions with different styles could be needed in midfield.

As a result, Football Insider revealed on 25 October that Leeds are interested in signing Piotr Zielinski from Inter Milan in the mid-season window.
Zielinski has yet to start a league game so far this season and would be open to a move, with Leeds plotting an ambitious deal to bolster their squad.
