Sources: It’s the end of the road for Christian Pulisic at Chelsea as decision made

Chelsea are ready to listen to offers for winger Christian Pulisic this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources with knowledge of the 24-year-old’s situation have revealed that Pulisic has reached the “end of the road” at Stamford Bridge and is likely to exit in the off-season.

It is believed there are no plans to open contract talks with the United States international – with his current deal set to expire in June 2024.

The former Dortmund star would have been sold in the January window but a knee injury prevented a potential exit from Stamford Bridge.

Football Insider revealed in December 2022 that Pulisic was one of Newcastle’s top targets for the mid-season window – and he remains on their shortlist ahead of the summer.

Pulisic signed for Chelsea for a reported £50million in 2019 and joined up with the Blues at the start of Frank Lampard’s managerial reign.

He was a key man during Thomas Tuchel’s time at the club, making 43 appearances in the 2020-21 season as the Londoners won the Champions League.

Speaking via club media, Tuchel praised the winger’s “amazing” form at the end of the 2021-22 campaign – but the relationship between Pulisic and the German soured towards the end of his reign.

Pulisic has struggled for game time since Tuchel’s departure, starting just seven games under new boss Graham Potter.

Chelsea moved to add several new attacking options in January, with David Datro Fofana, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke and Mykaylo Mudryk all joining the club.

All told, Pulisic has managed 26 goals and 21 assists in 136 outings for the Blues.

Newcastle

Chelsea are now 14 points adrift of the Premier League’s top four after their 2-0 loss away at Tottenham on Sunday (26 February).

The Stamford Bridge club face relegation-threatened Leeds on Saturday (4 March).
