Sources: Jack Colback undergoing QPR medical after quitting Nottingham Forest
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback is having a medical at QPR ahead of free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 33-year-old’s contract with Forest expired earlier this month as he prepares to join Championship side QPR.
Colback joined Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United on a permanent deal in 2020 after various loan spells with the club.
The midfielder made 134 appearances for Forest during his carious spells at the club, netting eight goals and offering up three assists in those outings.
Colback was an important part of the club’s promotion-winning campaign in the 2021-22 season playing across the pitch as a midfielder, left-back and wing-back during their journey back to the top flight.
As a result, he has reportedly been attracting interest from Birmingham City, West Brom and Ipswich Town ahead of the new season.
The former England international also featured heavily for Newcastle during his spell at the club, making 102 appearances on Tyneside with five goals and ten assists to his name.

QPR have seen the exit of experience Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen after they agreed to terminate his contract earlier this summer, leaving them thin in the midfield going into next season.
Gary Ainsworth’s side were due to kick of their new Championship campaign at home this weekend but due to renovations to the pitch at Loftus Road, the match had been moved to Watford’s home ground Vicarage Road.
In other news, Stockport County have agreed a deal to sign a former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper.
