Sources: Kasey Palmer undergoes Coventry City medical after deal agreed

Kasey Palmer has undergone a Coventry City medical as he finalises a move from Bristol City, Football Insider understands.

City have agreed to let the former Chelsea youngster, 25, leave for free after slipping down their midfielder pecking order.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Palmer has reached full agreement over a deal and will become Coventry’s first signing of the summer.

An announcement is expected to be imminent.

Palmer joined the Robins in August 2019 for a fee north of £3million.

The attacking midfielder made a name for himself after winning the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League with Chelsea, as well as the under-21 Premier League in 2014.

The player also made his national team debut for Jamaica in 2021 after switching from the England youth teams.

Palmer is already well-versed in how to be successful in the Championship after helping Huddersfield Town win promotion to the Premier League in 2016/17.

Despite the promotion highs, Palmer endured a slightly lacklustre loan spell with Swansea at the back end of 2020.

In the 2021-22 campaign, the Jamaican played only eight games and scored once.

He joins Coventry City in search of more regular game time.

After only being promoted to the Championship in 2020, the Sky Blues have climbed the table for the last two seasons, finishing in 12th place in the most recent campaign.

Palmer will be looking to help the team cement their Championship status in the forthcoming season.

In other news, a source has revealed that Leicester City and Brighton are in a race to sign a Bristol City sensation.
