Sources: Leeds player medical booked in for today
EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke
Leeds United left-back Tyler Denton will undergo a medical at Peterborough United today, Football Insider sources understand.
The defender has agreed the terms of a season-long loan with the League One club as the blizzard of temporary exits from Elland Road continues.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Denton has been booked in for medical examinations at Peterborough on Friday and, barring any hitches, will join for the entire 2018-19 campaign.
The 22-year-old will link up with ex-Leeds manager Steve Evans, who is a big admirer of the Elland Road academy product after his spell in charge of the Yorkshire club.
Denton broke into the Leeds team two years ago and scored on his debut in a League Cup tie but he has been unable to add to his three senior appearances.
He spent the first half of last season on loan at Port Vale and then dropped further down the pecking order for left-back places when he returned to his parent club behind Gaetano Berardi, January signing Laurens De Bock and emerging star Tom Pearce.
In other Leeds United news, the club are working on a deal to sign the most creative player in English football in what would be a sensational transfer.
