Sources: Leeds United and Burnley plot raids for Sam Field

Leeds and Burnley are plotting moves for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sam Field, sources have told Football Insider.

The Yorkshire giants and Premier League new boys are keen to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season and they are big admirers of the former West Brom man.

Field, 25, is entering the final year of his contract at QPR.

Leeds and Burnley are ready to test their resolve to keep hold of the midfielder during this summer’s transfer window.

Former England Under-21 international Field made 48 appearances in all competitions for QPR last season, chipping in with two goals and three assists.

Although typically deployed in a defensive midfield role, he is also capable of operating in a more advanced central position.

He began his career with West Brom before moving to QPR in May 2021 after a successful six-month loan spell at Loftus Road in the previous season.

Field became the subject of interest from Premier League clubs in the January window after an impressive start to the 2022-23 campaign.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 31 January that Fulham and Crystal Palace made moves to sign the midfielder.

Field was on the radar of both Premier League clubs and contact was made, but a deal never materialised.

But with the summer transfer window in full swing, he could now earn a move to Premier League newcomers Burnley or likely promotion contenders Leeds.
