Sources: Lewis Hall and Thiago Silva close to agreeing new Chelsea deals

Lewis Hall and Thiago Silva are close to agreeing new contracts at Chelsea, sources have told Football Insider.

Our site revealed on Wednesday that Hall is in advanced talks over an improved long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, while Silva is closing in on a one-year extension with the Blues.

Hall, 18, and Silva, 38, are both close to reaching full agreements over their deals after a breakthrough in talks.

Chelsea are confident of finalising both deals soon.

Hall has burst onto the scene for Graham Potter’s side this season after impressing in the club’s Cobham academy.

Able to play at both left-back and in midfield, the teenager spent nine years in Chelsea’s youth setup after joining the club in 2012.

He has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the academy and is viewed as one of the most exciting prospects at the club.

Potter has rewarded Hall’s progress with seven first-team appearances this season, including five in the Premier League.

As for Silva, the veteran centre-back has been crucial for the Blues this season, missing just two top-flight games.

The Brazilian has also worn the armband for Chelsea on five separate occasions this season, highlighting the importance of his leadership within the squad.

He first joined Chelsea on a free transfer in 2020 after spending eight years with Paris Saint-Germain, where he won seven league titles and 11 domestic cups.

Silva was vital to Chelsea’s Champions League-winning campaign in his first season with the club and he also helped the Blues win the Uefa Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2021.
