Sources: Major update on Summerville potentially quitting Leeds

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has emerged as a target for Crystal Palace, sources have told Football Insider.

The Eagles are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements after the departure of Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray following the expiry of his contract last month.

Summerville, 21, was relegated with Leeds last season but could be set for an immediate return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

It is believed Whites star Wilfried Gnonto is also wanted by the Selhurst Park club.

However, Football Insider revealed earlier this week (26 July) that Everton are in pole position to agree a £20million deal for Gnonto.

Serie A giants Napoli are also believed to be interested in the Italy international – but need to raise funds through player sales before making a move.

Both Gnonto and Summerville were bright spots in an otherwise dismal season for Leeds as they suffered relegation to the Championship.

Summerville, 21, managed four goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions in his first full senior season for the Whites.

He signed a fresh four-year deal at Elland Road just last summer (2022).

Football Insider revealed earlier this year (24 April) that Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund are among the top clubs monitoring his situation.

However, the Magpies have since moved for Harvey Barnes – a signing which could end their interest in the Netherlands Under-21 international.

Palace have made just one signing so far this summer, adding Jefferson Lerma on a free transfer.

But Roy Hodgson’s side are now keen to dip into the transfer market yet again to replace club legend Zaha – who netted seven goals last term.

In other news, Leeds now ready to sell star man at £20million discount.
