Sources: Man United close to agreeing Luke Shaw deal after Ten Hag decision
Man United left-back Luke Shaw is close to agreeing a new contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old has regained his place in Erik ten Hag’s side after initially playing a limited role following the summer signing of Tyrell Malacia.
The left-back’s current deal is set to expire in 2024 but is believed that renewal talks are now progressing well with all parties confident of securing a new agreement.

Shaw is happy at Old Trafford and is more than willing to pledge his long-term future to the club.
The England international has proved his worth to Ten Hag with a number of sensational performances in recent months – and has even been deployed as a centre-back in the Dutchman’s system.
Shaw was frozen out of the lineup for five straight Premier League games between August and October earlier this season – sparking fears that he could quit the Old Trafford club.
Football Insider revealed in October that Newcastle United were keeping tabs on his situation ahead of a potential swoop this year, and it was widely reported that he could leave.
But the former Southampton ace has regained his best form following an impressive World Cup – starting all five of England’s games in Qatar.
Man United activated the one-year extension clause in Shaw’s contract late last year as his deal was set to expire in June 2023.
Sources told this site on Monday (20 February) that Man United are also confident of securing right-back Diogo Dalot to a new deal.

Both players have been fixtures in the side which looks set to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Shaw and the Red Devils face Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday (23 February), before heading to Wembley for the League Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday (26 February).
