Sources: Man United have chance to agree cut-price deal for top European striker
Manchester United will be able to agree a cut-price deal for Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old’s future at Juventus is uncertain, as his current contract with the club expires at the end of the season.
Despite joining from Fiorentina in 2022 for over £66 million, the Serbian now looks out of place in Turin.

Dusan Vlahovic allowed to leave Juventus in January
The Italian side are unable to accommodate Vlahovic’s big wages, and he is currently behind new signing Lois Openda in the pecking order.
Sources say that the Italian giants are eager to sell Vlahovic in January, rather than lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
Therefore, Man United will be given a heavy discount if they decide to accelerate their interest in the Serbian striker.
As a teenager at Fiorentina, Vlahovic was regarded as one of the most exciting centre-forwards in the world.
In the first half of the 2021/22 Serie A campaign, the striker scored 17 league goals, earning him a January move to Juventus.
While his goal record at the Old Lady has been nothing to sneer at, scoring 62 times in 151 appearances, Vlahovic is not yet at the level of other world-class strikers and will look to kick on if he does leave Turin.
Both Chelsea and Man United have been linked with Vlahovic, meaning that the Red Devils would have to fight off their Premier League rivals if they want to secure his signature.
Man United might not prioritise Vlahovic though
Of course, Man United signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer for a fee of around £74million, so are not in desperate need of a striker.

Sesko scored his first goal for Ruben Amorim’s side over the weekend, as the Red Devils fell to a 3-1 defeat away at Brentford.
The Man United centre forward also has slightly better numbers than Vlahovic in his last two seasons.
Benjamin Sesko | League goals | Goals/90mins | Dusan Vlahovic | League goals | Goals/90mins |
2024/25 | 13 | 0.49 | 2024/25 | 10 | 0.5 |
2023/24 | 14 | 0.82 | 2023/24 | 16 | 0.62 |
Total | 27 | 0.62 | Total | 26 | 0.57 |
During his time at Leipzig, Sesko scored 27 Bundesliga goals, at a combined rate of 0.62 goals per 90 minutes.
That is higher than Vlahovic, who has found the net 26 times across the last two Serie A campaigns, scoring 0.57 goals per 90 minutes.
Therefore, it is debatable whether Vlahovic is even an upgrade on Sesko, and the numbers will likely persuade Man United against pursuing the Serbian international.
