Sources: Man United make move to sign Kolo Muani
Man United have made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt over a potential summer deal for striker Randal Kolo Muani, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old has been on the shortlist at Old Trafford for a while and club chiefs have now sounded out Frankfurt about the possibility of making a transfer a reality.
However, like other targets Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, Kolo Muani’s price tag could prove a sticking point in a potential move.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the France international could cost in the region of £85million.
It is believed European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also keen as they look for replacements for Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema respectively.
Kolo Muani is considered one of the most exciting young strikers in world football after his brilliant first season in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt.
He notched 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions for the German outfit.
The 24-year-old was named Bundesliga Player of the Season by his fellow players this week.
Kolo Muani signed a five-year contract running until June 2027 when he joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Nantes last summer (2022).
He has earned nine caps for France and scored his first senior international goal against Morocco in the World Cup semi-final.
Man United are keen to add a marquee striker this summer in order to ease the goalscoring burden on Marcus Rashford.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (26 June) that Man United are pessimistic about the prospect of landing top target Harry Kane.
United, who are yet to make a signing this summer, will play Champions League football once again in the 2023-24 campaign after finishing third last term.
