Sources: Man United now want to sign ex-Chelsea star Andreas Christensen
Man United are keen on Newcastle target Andreas Christensen, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils are weighing up a potential deal for a centre-back this month but it is believed a deal for Barcelona star Christensen could prove too hard to do.
Man United are operating under Financial Fair Play restrictions following their lavish spending in recent transfer windows.

But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Christensen “could be a name to keep an eye on” for United ahead of the summer window.
It is believed Jean-Clair Todibo is the top defender target for Erik ten Hag’s side but Nice are reluctant to lose the France international.
Sources say Todibo and Christensen will be on the list for the Old Trafford side in the summer window.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (8 January) that Newcastle are monitoring Christensen’s situation at La Liga giants Barcelona.
Like Man United, the Magpies could also be in the race for the Denmark international in the summer – when Barcelona are likely to be more receptive to a sale as they target new players of their own.
Christensen, who won the Champions League during his time at Chelsea, has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
He left Stamford Bridge for the Catalan giants on a free transfer in 2022.

Man United are keen to bolster their centre-back options with Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez all suffering long-term injuries this season.
Ten Hag’s side sit eighth in the Premier League table after 20 games.
