The failed move will have a knock-on effect for Jay Dasilva’s potential move to Coventry as Bristol will not sanction Dasilva’s exit until they have a replacement.

Currie has enjoyed a breakthrough season in League Two this season, and is valued by Wimbledon as a very exciting prospect.

The young defender has quickly become a crucial part of Wimbledon’s squad this season, making 25 appearances in League Two in 2022/23.

Wimbledon sit 10th in League Two and Currie has been a pivotal part of a defensive line that has conceded just 28 goals in 27 league appearances.

Currie’s last appearance for Wimbledon came in the 1-0 win against Stockport, but he only briefly appeared for a two-minute cameo.

He spent the 2021/22 season with National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough, making an impressive 32 league appearances across the season and making three assists.

Currie’s first breakthrough with Wimbledon came a year prior in the 2020/21 season, where he made his senior debut in an EFL Cup game against Oxford United.
