Sources: New twist in Fulham and Bournemouth race to sign Rabbi Matondo
Club Brugge have joined Fulham and Bournemouth in the race to sign Wales star Rabbi Matondo following his electric loan at Cercle Brugge, Football Insider understands.
The 21-year-old winger has been a revelation in Belgium this season following his loan arrival from Schalke.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Matondo is not only on Fulham and Bournemouth’s radar but he is being lined up by Club Brugge as a potential replacement for Noa Lang.
The Belgian outfit are a Champions League team and the cross-city rivals of Cercle Brugge.
He has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 27 games to help Cercle Brugge to their highest finish in the league in recent memory.
Matondo is one of five players who have just been nominated for the prestigious Ebbenhouten Schoen award in Belgium this season.

Football Insider revealed last month (30 April) that Fulham are in the hunt to sign the fleet-footed winger.
Marco Silva is a big admirer of Matondo’s pace and dribbling ability.
Fellow promoted side Bournemouth are also keen as both clubs look to strengthen ahead of their Premier League returns.
However, they face competition from Club Brugge, who want to keep Matondo in Belgium this summer.
The Cardiff City youth graduate joined Cercle Brugge on loan last summer.
As confirmed by Schalke in August, Brugge have the option to turn Matondo’s temporary stay permanent.
The nine-cap Wales international joined Schalke from Manchester City in January 2019.
He made 32 appearances for the German outfit over two seasons.
Matondo does have experience of playing in England, having made 11 appearances on loan at Stoke during the 2020/21 campaign.
