Sources: Norwich City making Russell Martin move
Norwich City are set to sound out Russell Martin regarding the vacant managerial position at Carrow Road, sources have told Football Insider.
Liam Manning was sacked by the Canaries on Saturday (8 November) evening after a dismal start to the season.
Sources say that Martin is in the running to replace Manning at the Norfolk-based club as they look to pull themselves clear of the relegation zone.
There is also believed to be interest in from Norwich in former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, who, like Martin, has attracted interest from Southampton.
Currently, Norwich sit 23rd in the Championship, only above Sheffield Wednesday, who recently received a 12-point deduction for going into administration.

Russell Martin could make Norwich City return after disastrous Rangers spell
Martin spent the vast majority of his playing career at Norwich, joining in November 2009 and staying with the club until the summer of 2018.
He made over 300 appearances for the Canaries, which included multiple promotions to the Premier League.
The 39-year-old was named club captain at the beginning of the 2013-14 season, and remained in the role until his departure.
Martin has been out of work since he was sacked by Rangers last month, despite being linked to numerous English sides.
Southampton make decision on Russell Martin
On Monday (3 November), Football Insider revealed that Southampton would approach Martin regarding a sensational switch back to the south coast.

However, sources say that the support for the 39-year-old in the boardroom is now not as strong as it was a week ago.
Southampton are now in talks with Gary O’Neil regarding the vacant managerial position.
It means that Martin is unlikely to return to St Mary’s and will instead be available for Norwich if they decide to make a move.
