Sources: Nottingham Forest turn attention to Marco Silva approach after Fulham news
Nottingham Forest will “seriously consider” making an approach for Fulham manager Marco Silva in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds’ owner Evangelos Marinakis is a firm admirer of Silva after previously working with him at Olympiacos, and the Portuguese is set to see his contract at Fulham expire at the end of the season.
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in January that Silva is likely to leave Fulham for a new challenge at the end of his contract, and sources say that Forest are growing increasingly confident that a move for him could be successful as the time on his deal ticks down.
The Forest board remain in support of Sean Dyche at the moment, but with the 54-year-old’s short-term deal only having one year left to run in the summer, Silva could come into the picture.

Marco Silva’s record compared to Sean Dyche
Silca has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs on several occasions thanks to his work at Craven Cottage, as his team continue to catch the eye for his performance.
The West Londoners are currently on course to finish tenth in the Premier League, as they continue their run of failing to be threatened by relegation after Silva got them promoted from the Championship at the first attempt in 2021-22.
The 48-year-old now boasts a wealth of experience in the English top flight, having previously enjoyed spells with Everton, Hull City and Watford.
Silva has regularly helped unfancied clubs to punch above their weight in the top tier, while also leading Everton to an eighth-placed finish in his only full campaign in charge.
His exploits across those four jobs have seen him amass over 230 games of experience in Premier League dugouts, and he has a respectable win percentage of almost 36 per cent during that time.

By contrast, Dyche, whose remits have tended to be firefighting jobs across work with Everton and Burnley, sees his win percentage down at 28 per cent at present.
Nottingham Forest at fault for Arne Engels collapse
Football Insider revealed last week that Nottingham Forest were to blame for their move for Arne Engels collapsing in the final stages of transfer deadline day.
The East Midlands outfit were desperately trying to add another central midfielder to their group as the hours ticked down, and saw three bids for Engels rejected by Celtic amid their last-minute efforts.
They ultimately emerged from their pursuit unsuccessful on this occasion, despite tabling a lucrative offer of £25million for the Bhoys.
The Glasgow giants were unrelenting in their stance regarding the Belgian, although there has been an indication that they would have had a hard time rejecting Forest’s final offer had it come earlier in the window.
Celtic lacked the necessary time to secure a replacement for the 22-year-old, and as a result, Forest only have themselves to blame for not moving earlier in the window.
