Sources: Rangers could accept cut-price Nicolas Raskin offer after new twist
Rangers could be forced to accept a cut-price offer for Nicolas Raskin in the summer despite batting off interest during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old was a target for a number of sides across Europe including in the Premier League but remained at Ibrox as a key part of Danny Rohl‘s side.
However, with his contract set to expire in 2027, clubs have been encouraged in their pursuit as the summer will represent Rangers‘ last chance to sell for a significant fee.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Rangers are bracing for interest in Raskin to accelerate once more in the summer.
The likes of Tottenham and Leeds United have been long-term admirers of the Belgium international but will be joined by rival clubs from across Europe.

Rangers could be forced to accept Nicolas Raskin offer
Football Insider revealed in November that Rohl would block Raskin leaving Rangers in the mid-season window given his importance to his starting XI.
The midfielder has made 39 appearances so far this season despite having previously been cast out of the side following a bust-up under Russell Martin‘s time in charge.
Rangers may have to make the most of his talents from now until the end of the season, however, when there is a growing feeling he will be allowed to move on.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Yeah, look, I’m sure there will be further interest in Nicolas Raskin come the summer transfer window.
“He will just have one year left on his contract at Rangers and if there’s no new deal agreed, Rangers might be forced into cashing in on Raskin.
“They won’t want to risk him running down his contract and potentially leaving on a free transfer.

“Clubs will be well aware of the contract situation, thinking they might be able to get Raskin for a cheaper fee in the summer due to that contract situation.
“They will be hoping they can lure him away with a decent-sized offer in that respect.”
Aston Villa set sights on Bailey Rice deal
Raskin may not be the only midfielder on his way out of Ibrox in the summer, as speculation continues to surround the future of Bailey Rice.
Football Insider revealed on 6 February that Aston Villa are interested in signing Rice and have joined rivals West Brom in the race for his signature.
The 19-year-old, is out of contract at Rangers at the end of the season and no progress has been made towards extending his deal given the interest elsewhere.

While there are concerns about the teenager’s fitness given his current long-term knee injury, Aston Villa are among multiple English clubs who could take the gamble.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in December that Rangers could be set to lose Rice and are fighting a losing battle to extend his contract at Ibrox.
