Sources: Reading agree to sign Porto star Mamadou Loum as medical booked
Reading have agreed a deal to sign Porto midfielder Mamadou Loum, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old has arrived in England to undergo a medical and complete a season-long loan deal.
Loum is well down the pecking order at Portuguese giants Porto and has been given the green light to head to Reading.
The Senegal international spent last season out on loan in Spain with Alaves and Reading boss Paul Ince sees the defensive midfielder as a key addition to his plans.
Loum was a key player for Alaves, starting 26 of his 32 La Liga appearances for the club.
He scored two goals for the club but also picked up 10 yellow cards across the season.

Loum arrived at Porto from Braga B, initially on loan in January 2019 before the deal was made permanent at the end of the 2018-19 season.
He has only been able to make 23 appearances for the Portuguese giants, only completing the full game on seven of those occasions.
As a Senegal international, Loum earned an Africa Cup of Nations winner’s medal in January.
However, his only minutes in the tournament came in Senegal’s final group game against Guinea.
Reading have been busy in the summer transfer window, making seven senior additions.
Tom Ince, Shane Long, Sam Hutchinson and Dean Bouzanis have all arrived on free transfers while Jeff Hendrick, Joe Lumley and Tyrese Fornah have all arrived on loan.
