Sources: Tottenham make ‘huge’ push to sign James Maddison
Tottenham could sign James Maddison for £60million this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs are pushing to get a deal done for Maddison as part of a “huge” overhaul at the club and £60m should be enough to secure a deal for the Leicester City star.
Newcastle United have also been monitoring the 26-year-old since summer 2022.
On 27 April, Football Insider revealed that Eddie Howe has told Newcastle chiefs to prioritise three marquee deals this summer and Maddison is one of their top targets for the upcoming window.
Fellow Premier League giants Liverpool are also believed to be interested in the England international but are monitoring the situation from a distance and are not as close as other teams pushing.
Leicester are currently 16th in the Premier League and outside of the relegation zone.
But, the Foxes are joint on points with two of the four teams below them and only one point separates them from 19th place Everton with just four games to go.
Maddison has been the shining light at the King Power Stadium throughout a tumultuous season that has seen them sack manager Brendan Rodgers and appoint Dean Smith for the remainder of the campaign.
Tottenham have undergone a rocky season that has seen them go through three managers in a just over a month.
Antonio Conte was sacked following the side’s exit from the Champions League, FA Cup and a draw with bottom of the table Southampton.

His assistant Cristian Stellini took over before he was replaced by assistant Ryan Mason after an embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Newcastle.
The club are continuing to search for a new manager that they hope can turn them into a winning side.
In other news, Tottenham edge closer to appointing manager who can persuade Harry Kane to stay.
