Sources: Wijnaldum makes up mind on re-signing for Newcastle this month

Georginio Wijnaldum is not interested in signing for Newcastle United this month, Football Insider can reveal.

The Saudi-backed club are one of multiple Premier League clubs who have registered their interest in signing the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder on loan.

But a recruitment source has told Football Insider that Wijnaldum does not want to re-join his former club this month.

The Holland international is not interested in playing for a team battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

However, Wijnaldum is open to offers from top-flight clubs in England about a loan until the end of the season.

The Dutch star has had a mixed start to life at PSG after joining on a free contract last summer.

The former Liverpool midfielder has started 14 times in 24 appearances for the French giants.

However, he has struggled to nail down one role under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine boss has played Wijnaldum as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a winger on both flanks.

Several clubs have made contact with PSG about a potential move this month, including Newcastle.

However, Wijnaldum does not want to return to St James’ Park with the Magpies embroiled in a fight for Premier League survival.

The former PSV Eindhoven ace was a standout performer during the 2015/16 season on Tyneside, scoring 11 goals in 40 games.

However, the Magpies were relegated and Wijnaldum secured a move to Liverpool.

He went on to play 237 times for the Merseyside giants, winning the Premier League, Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.

Wijnaldum also has 85 caps under his belt for the Netherlands.
