Spotted: Jim Ratcliffe’s reaction after Man City’s third goal in Man United thrashing
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United sank to a miserable 3-0 defeat against Manchester City, with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in attendance.
Phil Foden gave Man City the lead, with Roy Keane highlighting Luke Shaw’s poor attitude in the build up to the host’s opener.
Fans aimed their blame at Bruno Fernandes, who seemed all at sea in midfield throughout the game, an area of the pitch that Amorim regularly gets criticism for.
Erling Haaland was at the double to extend Man City’s lead with Gary Neville heaping praise on the City talisman after his showing.

Ruben Amorim fails to satisfy boss
It was another tepid display from Amorim’s side who failed to lay a glove on their city rivals in large parts of the game.
BBC Sport’s Simon Stone discussed the look on Ratcliffe’s face as the television cameras honed in on the United part-owner.
Stone took to the BBC live blog to say: “The TV cameras have just picked out Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the directors box.
“Manchester United’s minority owner looked suitably unimpressed although I wouldn’t expect him to be smiling.
“I’m not sure this was his grand plan when he decided to spend over £1bn to buy into the club he supported as a boy,” Stone finished.
Ruben Amorim is on the precipice
The result sees Amorim’s side slip to 14th in the fledgling Premier League table, having won just one of their first four Premier League games.
Amorim was given last season as a free hit, taking over from Erik ten Hag’s disastrous reign, but twelve months on and it’s Amorim who finds himself in the mire.

Amorim has received heavy criticism for his lack of flexibility, refusing to steer away from the 3-4-2-1 formation that his squad has struggled to adapt to.
With another season without European football looking like a real possibility at present, Ratcliffe will hope Amorim can wrestle back some form so he can avoid having some uncomfortable conversations with his first major hire at Old Trafford.
