Tottenham have won the race to sign centre-back Ben Wilmot from League Two side Stevenage, according to a report.
The 18-year-old has made four appearances for his side this season, two each in the FA Cup and EFL Trophy.
The centre-back was in a three-way Premier League tussle, with Tottenham, Southampton and Liverpool all keen on adding the player to their books.
Now it looks like Tottenham is his preferred destination, after The Sun reported that the north London side had won the race.
The story was printed in the Sunday edition of the Sun (page 68).
In the same story it was also reported that Aston Villa youngster Andre Green is also a Tottenham target.
Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino are fast becoming the go-to side for young players keen to work under the dynamic Argentinian. Not a lot is known about Wilmot but he’s done enough to get himself on the radars of three Premier League clubs and if he does complete his switch to Tottenham he’ll be seen as one for the future.
