Stan Collymore delivers no-holds-barred verdict on West Ham display v Man United
By Harvey Byrne
Outspoken pundit Stan Collymore has told that he’s not buying into the excuse that West Ham won’t face a fine Manchester United team each week and has ripped into them after the defeat.
The Hammers fell to a heavy 4-0 defeat against the Red Devils at Old Trafford with Romelu Lukaku scoring twice on his competitive debut, while Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba added to the scoreline with a couple of fine strikes.
West Ham, meanwhile gave competitve debuts to each of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
However, each of them struggled on Sunday and Collymore wrote on his personal Twitter account after the match that their displays were “poor, disjointed and easily dispirited” in a no-holds-barred verdict.
Not buying into #WHUFC won't face that every week, they were poor, disjointed and easily dispirited. Will review after 6-8 games!

An away trip to Old Trafford would have been a difficult clash for a number of sides on the opening day of the Premier League campaign and the last time the Hammers travelled to face Jose Mourinho’s side in November they suffered a 4-1 defeat in the League Cup.

Slaven Bilic’s side will however be keen to make an immediate bounce back and they will take on Southampton at St. Mary’s next Saturday, who started the campaign with a 0-0 home draw with Swansea.
