Stan Collymore rages on Twitter after latest Nottingham Forest defeat, calls for major changes

By Amir Mir

Stan Collymore raged on Twitter after Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-0 at Wigan in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon as he called for major changes at the club.

The Latics took the lead late into the first half when Will Grigg poked home Stephen Warnock’s cross before Yanic Wildschut doubled the home team’s advantage after the break.

Those goals meant that Forest have kept just one clean this season under manager Philippe Montanier.

But their afternoon went from bad to worse when defender Eric Lichaj missed a late penalty to ensure Forest were knocked out of the cup.

Former Premier League striker Collymore was clearly angry at the goings on at the club as he posted this message on his personal Twitter account.

Montanier’s side were without their influential midfielder Henri Lansbury who is a reported target of Championship rivals Aston Villa and Derby.

Nonetheless, they suffered their sixth defeat in seven games in all competitions as they return back to Championship matters.

In the second-tier, they are fighting relegation as they are currently two points above the drop zone.

This season, they have lost 13 of their 25 games and conceded 45 goals during those matches – only rock-bottom Rotherham have conceded more.

Additionally, they are in the midst of a takeover as the current future of the former European Cup winners looks uncertain.

Forest will now prepare for a trip to Birmingham on January 14 before they take on Bristol City the following weekend.
