Stan Collymore reacts to Gerrard Liverpool return

Stan Collymore greeted the addition of Steven Gerrard to the Liverpool academy on Friday evening.
It was announced that the now 36-year-old had made his return to the Merseyside giants after leaving for America in the form of LA Galaxy in 2015.
Gerrard had a 28-year association with the club after joining in 1987 and played with a number of stars in the team.
Former Reds striker Collymore finished at the club a year before Gerrard made his debut against Blackburn in 1998.
However, speaking on his personal Twitter account on Friday, the outspoken pundit aired his delight at the return of the club’s former captain.

Gerrard was the icon of the Liverpool team for a number of years, helping his side to Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup titles among many others.
He will now be hoping to pass his influence down to a number of highly talented youngsters, which has brought through a number of stars in the past.
Gerrard broke through the academy himself, while fellow football greats Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Michael Owen also made the step up through the clubs ranks.
It is Gerrard’s first non-playing role since retiring in 2016 and he will be keen to impress for a club which holds him so dearly.
