Collymore meets Al-Hasawi: This is how long Nottingham Forest owner will stay at the club
By Amir Mir
Stan Collymore believes Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi will stay at the club in the short to medium term.
Former Reds striker Collymore posted on his personal Twitter account that he held a “forthright” and “honest” meeting with the Forest senior figure on Tuesday.
Al-Hasawi was due to sell the club to an American consortium led by John Jay Moores earlier this month but the takeover collapsed.
Meeting started 7pm after GB/JL, 45 mins with owner alone, 90 mins with others present. Was forthright, honest and prepared.

After that, he sacked Frenchman Philippe Montanier from his managerial duties as the Midlands giants continued to struggle on the field.
Broadcaster Collymore went to meet the owner and this is what the outspoken pundit had to say in regards to Al-Hasawi’s future.

“In summary, I believe Fawaz will stay in the short /medium term,” Collymore wrote in his blog. “But [Fawaz] is luke warm as to an independent, skills-based team coming in to run and direct the club.
“Old habits die hard, he has spent money in his tenure so I detected still a little ‘we nearly did it in year one without a CEO’, which of course is true, but I bet my last shilling that in years 2,3 and 4 the club would have been even better placed to capitalise on missing out with a vibrant, experienced team to drive this great club forward.”
Forest are currently without a manager with former midfielder, Gary Brazil, currently in charge of first team duties.
Despite the club’s struggles off the pitch and on the field, the caretaker boss led his team to their first win in seven games against Bristol City at the weekend.
Prior to that match, Collymore and Forest supporters protested at the running of their club as they fear relegation into the third tier.
Forest are three places and five points above the relegation zone in the Championship as they will be looking to earn back-to-back wins against Leeds on Wednesday night.
Garry Monk’s side were beaten by their midweek opponents in the reverse fixture at the City Ground in August as they now welcome their rivals to Elland Road.
In other Nottingham Forest news, Gary Brazil has delivered the club’s transfer plans which will delight fans.
