Stefan Borson drops Jorgen Strand Larsen to Everton verdict as Wolves asking price revealed
Everton are considering their options in the January transfer window as David Moyes looks to strengthen his squad.
Everton were beaten 4-2 by Brentford on Sunday (4 January), with Igor Thiago scoring a hat-trick for the Bees at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The defeat saw Moyes’s side slip to 12th in the Premier League table, but they are just three points behind fifth-place Chelsea.
The Merseyside giants have struggled in front of goal this season, having found the back of the net just 22 times in 20 games.
Everton have discussed a deal to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen, but Wolves are believed to be looking for around £40million for the striker.

Everton’s chances of signing Jorgen Strand Larsen revealed
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider he doesn’t believe Everton will spend £40m on Strand Larsen in January.
The Norway international has registered just three goals in 21 appearances in the first half of this campaign after scoring on 14 occasions last season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I don’t think on a simple basis Everton is buying him for £40m in January if that’s the equation.
“Now, is there a possibility that they look at him and go, ‘We’ll do a loan with an obligation?’. Maybe.

“Although I still think £40m is a lot for Everton right now, given the other requirements in the squad and given that budget.”
Wolves turned down a £55m bid for Strand Larsen from Newcastle United over the summer.
Strand Larsen could join another Premier League club
Borson insisted there are other Premier League clubs in more immediate need of a striker than Everton at this moment in time despite their struggles in front of goal.
“I just don’t know where the priorities lie with Everton’s squad,” said Borson.
“I would sort of be slightly sceptical that they’re going to do that deal. I think there are clubs that are probably in more immediate need of a striker.”

Nottingham Forest have emerged as the favourites to sign Strand Larsen as Sean Dyche looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Meanwhile, West Ham have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old this month.
