“Well we are disappointed we didn’t win, we have enough chances to win the game,” the Villa boss revealed during his press conference on Friday, which was shown on the Birmingham Mail website.
“I’ve said it repeatedly, probably since I’ve been here, that our Achilles heel is just not converting chances and then frustration then sets in for everyone.
“But certainly the other night the performance of the team was excellent, I know Middlesbrough went down to 10 men very early, but we soon level unfortunately.
“We can take a lot of positives from it, we’re just disappointed we didn’t win.”
Bruce was appointed as the Midland club’s manager back in October last year and only managed to guide his team to 13th place in the Championship standings last season.
The club are desperate to reach promotion back up to the top flight this term, but with the current results a return to the Premier League looks like a distant goal.
Although it’s early in the campaign, the Villains are currently sat at 18th place in the the table.
