Steven Bergwijn could ‘force’ Man United transfer after ‘surprise’ development – pundit
Steven Bergwijn could force a move to Man United even if Tottenham don’t want to sell to a rival.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the winger’s future.
On Thursday (14 April), The Daily Mail reported Erik ten Hag wants to make Bergwijn, 24, his first signing as Man United boss.

The winger was heavily linked with a transfer to Ten Hag’s Ajax side in January but a move failed to materialise.
A United source told this site (11 April), Man United have chosen Ten Hag as their next permanent manager and are set to trigger his release clause at Ajax.
Kenny claims Bergwijn could force a move to Old Trafford in an offer comes in.
“It depends who comes in for him and where he wants to go,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That plays a big factor in it. Tottenham might not want to sell to a rival but if Bergwijn turns round and says he wants to join them, then there isn’t a lot they can do.
“You get players who will only move to one team, I won’t say Bergiwjn is one of those players, I don’t know that.
“But players have done it before when a bid comes in from one club and then they only want to join them, they force the move.
“The key thing is if other clubs are interested. We know Bergwijn probably wants to move.
“He’s barely been given a chance under Conte which is a bit of a surprise to me.”

Bergwijn scored two last-gasp goals to turn a loss into a win against Leicester City on 19 January.
He also scored off the bench as his side beat Newcastle 5-1 on 3 April.
