'We have to strike back' – Klopp promises action following Premier League disappointment
Jurgen Klopp was far from impressed following Liverpool’s abysmal 1-0 loss to Swansea on Monday night, and has called for immediate action from his players.
Speaking to Liverpools club website, Klopp stated that there was no surprise that Liverpool were not able to play the fluid football theyre used to,
“It’s hard work on a night like that, Swansea fighting for their life. I don’t expect free-flowing football.”
Swansea City ended a three month unbeaten run by the Reds, a period that saw Klopp’s men beat the League leaders Manchester City.
However, the unbeaten run was not Klopp’s highest priority, as he thinks the lack of quality from the Player’s is more pressing,
“If you take a point, yes, we have a longer [unbeaten] run but it doesn’t make the game better. That’s what we have to think about,
Roberto Firmino had the best chance of the match for Liverpool, as his stoppage time header was denied only by the woodwork.
The result sees the Reds drop down to fourth in the League, with Chelsea leaping into third place three points above them.
Liverpool’s next chance to rectify the situation comes on January 30, as the Reds travel to face another Premier League struggler in Huddersfield.
In other Liverpool news, this Reds forward could be on his way to Italy, if they lose their first choice striker.
