Stuart Dallas delivers Leeds verdict after Birmingham win

By Dominic Toner

Leeds midfielder Stuart Dallas expressed his delight on Twitter after the 3-1 win over Birmingham on Friday night.

The Whites managed to keep their promotion aspirations firmly alive with a third victory in the last four matches.

Garry Monk’s side managed to get the better of a battling Birmingham and talisman Chris Wood once again proved to be the difference.

The star striker managed a goal in each half, which came in-between a Craig Gardner goal for the hosts, while January recruit Alfonzo Pedraza scored his first goal for the club to secure the points.

Leeds strengthened their grip on fourth in the Championship and are now 11 points ahead of Fulham in seventh.

Dallas admitted it was a huge result for the Yorkshire club as they now look huge favourites to secure a play-off spot.

“Another huge step in the right direction. 3 points is all that matters, see you all on Tuesday,” Dallas wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Dallas was recalled to the starting line-up against Birmingham and played 73 minutes, before being replaced by goalscorer Pedraza.

The winger has continue to be rotated in and out of the side this season as Monk has assembled numerous options.

Leeds will now turn their attention to a potentially huge clash away to Fulham on Tuesday and would take another giant stride towards the play-0ff with a win.

The Whites are now seven points adrift of the automatic spots having played a game more than the top two, but will most likely continue to look nervously behind them.
